PPG operates in more than 70 countries, serving construction, consumer products, industrial and transportation markets as well as aftermarkets, with headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where it was founded in 1883. Recent developments include the completion of the sale of its US and Canada architectural coatings business, encompassing brands such as Glidden, Pittsburgh Paints & Stains, Liquid Nails, Flood, Dulux and Sico, to American Industrial Partners in December 2024 for $550 million; the divestiture of its silicas products business to QEMETICA S.A. in late 2024 for $310 million; a $380 million investment announced in 2025 to build a new aerospace coatings and sealants manufacturing facility in Shelby, North Carolina; and new product launches such as EnviroLuxe Plus powder coatings in May 2025 and BPA-NI beverage can end coatings under the INNOVEL and iSENSE series in July 2025.
